Continuous Support During Your Labor & Delivery

What is a Birth Doula?

The Greek word doula means “woman caregiver”.

We now use the word to describe a trained and experienced labor companion, who provides the mother and her husband, or partner, continuous emotional support and physical comfort during labor and delivery. Doulas also offer assistance in obtaining information before, during and after childbirth.

My name is Lori Frieling. I am a DONA certified birth doula serving Boston and the Boston Metro-West area. I am passionate about being actively involved in this field of work. I am confident and hopeful that you will find some useful information here to guide you through this magical journey of labor and childbirth.

I consider myself a birthing companion for the weeks or months leading up to your birth. I will provide you and your partner continuous support during labor and delivery. I will support you as you embark on the new world of motherhood and parenthood.

I invite you to read about my background and contact me with any questions.

I look forward to talking with you, getting to know you, and hearing your thoughts and wishes about your upcoming childbirth process.

You can reach me at contact@yourgentlebeginnings.com or find me on Facebook.
